Sherri Snider has felt a calling to work with older adults her entire life and served 38 years in long-term care – 26 of those as a nursing home administrator. She has been a certified Validation therapist for 35 years and has conducted numerous training seminars in various locations across Missouri, including churches, colleges and universities, long-term care settings, and training settings for professional healthcare providers and State workers such as Department of Health and Senior Services inspectors and regional ombudsmen.

In 2015, she began traveling abroad to train elder care leaders, social workers, pastors, university students, and mental health professionals in the United States commonwealth of Puerto Rico and in the countries of Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua.

Snider holds a Doctor of Ministry from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Master of Social Work from Saint Louis University. Dr. Snider is also a licensed clinical social worker and a licensed nursing home administrator.

About the Author:

A retired architect, Author Tom Grden has been involved in Christian ministry for well over 40 years, serving as a church deacon, elder, board member, and Christian school board chair, as well as participating in music ministry. He has operated in prophetic personal ministry as well as informal and formal counseling for the past decade. He is the originator of Life Resurrection Ministries LLC, which provides Christian Life Coaching, Biblical counseling, and Personal Ministry.

At his home church in Pittsburgh, PA., he is active in the Life Recovery Program (Christian AA/NA/Family Rescue) and leads the altar prayer team ministry. He is also active in music ministry and personal prayer ministry with Living Waters Church in Irwin, PA, and their affiliate, Voice of the Bride Ministries. He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

John Gerard Dilworth, son of an Irishman and Grandson of an Englishman. John’s father was an electrical engineer in Donegal, where he met and married Kathleen Gallen, who always claimed to be a descendant of the Spanish Armada when one of their ships ran aground and sank at Inishowen on the north coast of Donegal.

John grew up in Ballyshannon, one of the oldest towns in Ireland, where he developed a deep appreciation and love of Irish history. With the increased interest in ancestry, John started to explore his own ancestry, especially on his mother’s side. Lack of record keeping over the years made accurate information impossible. However, he found enough compelling evidence to suggest that his mother may have been right. Some of the interesting facts that he uncovered were:

(a) In Ireland, the name ‘Gallen’ is predominantly found in north Donegal around the area of Inishowen, where the Armada ship the ‘Trinidad Valencera’ sank.

(b) The ship that sank was originally named the ‘Balanzara’ a Venetian cargo ship commandeered and renamed ‘The Trinidad Valencera’ by the Spanish King Philip II.

(c) The Name Gallen is said to originate from the town of St. Gallen in Switzerland, close to Venice, where the Balanzara was registered. It was only after the sinking of the Trinidad Valencera that the name Gallen started to show up in local senses in Inishowen
