These designs prioritise performance, scalability, and energy efficiency. As AI applications grow across various sectors, there’s an increasing demand for robust processing power, leading to complex data centre designs. 

Schneider Electric’s collaboration with NVIDIA seeks to address these challenges by delivering cutting-edge data centre designs tailored for NVIDIA’s accelerated computing clusters. This initiative focuses on high-power distribution, liquid-cooling systems, and controls for extreme-density clusters. Pankaj Sharma from Schneider Electric emphasised the collaboration’s goal to overcome data centre infrastructure limitations and fully utilise AI’s potential. 

Additionally, AVEVA, a Schneider Electric subsidiary, plans to integrate its digital twin platform with NVIDIA Omniverse, facilitating virtual simulation and collaboration. Energy management and automation major Schneider Electric on Thursday said it has collaborated with NVIDIA to optimise data center infrastructure. Schneider Electric will leverage its expertise in data center infrastructure and NVIDIA’s advanced AI technologies to introduce the first publicly-available AI data center reference designs, according to a statement. These designs are set to redefine the benchmarks for AI deployment and operation within data center ecosystems, the statement said.

“We’re unlocking the future of AI for organisations,” said Pankaj Sharma, Executive Vice President – Secure Power Division & Data Center Business at Schneider Electric.The collaboration will help organisations to overcome data center infrastructure limitations and unlock the full potential of AI, the statement said.

In the first phase of this collaboration, Schneider Electric will introduce cutting-edge data center reference designs tailored for NVIDIA accelerated computing clusters and built for data processing, engineering simulation, electronic design automation, computer-aided drug design and generative AI.

Special focus will be on enabling high-power distribution, liquid-cooling systems, and controls designed to ensure simple commissioning and reliable operations for the extreme-density cluster, the statement added.

Under this, Schneider Electric aims to provide data center owners and operators with the tools and resources necessary to seamlessly integrate new and evolving AI solutions into their infrastructure, enhancing deployment efficiency, and reliable life-cycle operation.

Schneider Electric, a digital transformation of energy management and automation provider, plans to invest ₹3,200 crore in expanding its industrial footprint in India by 2026, Michael Lotfy Gierges, executive vice president of global home & distribution division, Schneider Electric told businessline.

These investments are spread over Gujarat, Telangana, Karnataka, West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Currently, India is one of the company’s 4 global hubs and the 3rd largest market, Gierges added. “At Schneider Electric, our goal is to enhance customer support, accelerate their energy transition, and facilitate electrification efforts.”

As the Indian economy continues its remarkable growth trajectory, with the government setting ambitious targets to elevate the GDP by 2027, Gierges said that Schneider Electric is committed to growing alongside the nation. The company aims to further expand its presence and contribute to the country’s progress, he added.

The company also aims to add 6,500 employees to the existing employee base of more than 37,000 employees by 2026. “Twenty percent expansion is planned for the workforce in India over the next three years.,” said Gierges.

The government’s ‘India for India’ and ‘India for Global’ strategy align well with our objectives at Schneider Electric, said Gierges. “Our focus extends beyond talent development to increasing our R&D capabilities,” he said. “We plan to expand our manufacturing footprint by over 1 million square feet,” he added.

With 30 manufacturing plants already in operation, Gierges said that the company plans to leverage India’s potential for both local and global markets.
