Rom-Com “Jackpot!” is the perfect read this romantic holiday

“Definitely a page-turner with some serious misdirection and an ending too delicious and surprising to give away. Alas, rom-coms are back!”
Samantha Thomas, WVON/iHeart Radio

Chicago, USA – Best-selling author, Michael Wilder, is at it again with his new book, “Jackpot! The Crazy Things You’ll Do for Love and Money.” Christian Walker, a used car salesman and part-time Uber driver, had just married Olivia Stallworth, or “Liv,” as he called her for short – a gorgeous, high-end real estate agent in Chicago accustomed to the finer things in life. The wedding was perfect. It was everything they had planned. The only thing left was for Christian to tell Liv the truth—he wasn’t who she thought he was. Some might call him a fraud. Some would say liar. Others would say cunning. One might even call him a genius. But what mattered most was what Liv would think. Would she understand that Christian kept a major secret their entire one-year engagement because he wanted her to marry him for true love?

Check out this snippet from the Introduction:

The mood was right. Dozens of Jasmine-scented candles were lit and flickering throughout the room of vaulted ceilings. Linen curtains billowed in the breeze as the gentle wind crept through the open bay window. A quiet whistle accompanied the light gusts of air. African incense sticks burned at all four corners; the fragrance was Egyptian Musk. The delicate touch of dozens of rose petals beneath our feet added a tender feeling to the mood. White satin sheets lay nearby looking soft as butter; they were untouched, but that was about to change.

Babyface’s Every Time I Close My Eyes played in the background. Those first two lines of the song captured the moment: “Girl, it’s been a long, long time comin’. But I, I know it’s been worth the wait.” It had been two years since my fiancé, Liv, and I first met. We had decided to wait. She grew up Catholic. I grew up Baptist. Our religious principles had tugged upon our conscience for oh too long. We couldn’t hold back any longer. Our desire to satisfy one another’s needs and to likewise be pleased had taken hold. There was no turning back. She knew it and I knew it—the relationship was ready for a stronger bond. It was time to elevate our connection mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and, yes, physically.

Get your head out of the gutter! This was our wedding…
