The Buddiez strive to create a culture and brand that shifts the way collaboration is done in Web3. They consider other communities that share the same values as their Buddiez and look forward to building with them.

The BackPack Buddiez is inspired by a common accessory that links students, travelers, and wanderers from all walks of life. The team came together in the spirit of collaboration and the vision for the project is to bring creatives, builders, artists, activists, and innovators together in a fun positive environment. Standing by the motto, “Buddiez Help Buddiez” the team strives to carry through with this theme by tapping into the talents of the amazing community members and creating channels for them to contribute; while highlighting their amazing work.
Mission
The Buddiez are first seeking to fund the construction of 2 schools through the non-profit organization buildOn. The construction of this school will be the first of many things the community does to support others. The mission is to create change, raise awareness, and inspire others to do the same. Ultimately the goal is to bring people/communities together, tackle world issues, and create opportunities for those that lack them.

About The Team
The Backpack Buddiez are a group of dreamers and doers that met in Twitter spaces. They come to you from 3 continents with all different skill sets and life experiences. They celebrate their differences while sharing common values and goals.
Aswin Aschwan (Lead Artist) – Jakarta, Indonesia
Coming from humble beginnings, lead artist Aswin, 22, has developed a reputation for remixing custom art based on other projects. He is known for creating art in many different styles and is a multi-dimensional artist. He hopes to use profits from sales to move his family out of a rough neighborhood.
Crypto Mike (Michael Lee-Chong) – Mississauga, Canada
Mr. Lee is a Teacher/Coach and Community Builder. He saw the possibilities of NFT’s through storytelling, utility, and application. He has since taken a leave to pursue/transfer his skill sets into Web 3 and apply in real life integration to create a culture, movement, and brand that drives change.
Eff (Frankie) – South Florida, USA
Eff picked up the concept of community in support groups while he was dealing with drug abuse 7 years ago. Since then he has overcome every obstacle in his way and makes every decision with integrity. He strives to grow everyday and help all of his Buddiez along the way.
Tee –Derbyshire, England
Tee is an artist/community builder in the NFT community. Tee is a firm believer that “everybody is somebody” and this is effectively communicated through her messages. She is passionate about making a difference with her Buddiez.
Danny – New York, USA
Leveraging years of professional experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), Danny is excited by the opportunity to build and explore the future landscape of web3. He has found a home in virtual communities across the space and continues to learn new skills and grow with teams.
Our Story
Aswin and Crypto Mike developed a friendship/brotherhood through twitter spaces. They were working on a project together to build schools, as this was a passion the two shared. They did not only want to build schools but provide artists opportunities as Aswin himself was near to quitting art all together due to life circumstances. Crypto Mike was watching Aswin draw for months and one day, Aswin was showing off some of the different styles that he could draw. These were thicker lines and very different from his other art. Aswin drew a character with a backpack and that is when Crypto Mike thought of the name Backpack Buddiez. From there he proceeded to his garage where he made his first rap ever. He sent it to the rest of the Buddiez, followed by the first ever “Backpack Buddy”. From there the team decided to build the concept out together. They knew they needed all of their Buddiez to bring the vision to life. They ran with the idea/vision because it represented exactly who they were. Since then, they added more members to the art team, including animators, and photographers that are friends of Aswin who reside in Indonesia. They have also been blessed with great community members willing to step up to the plate, become leaders, collaborate, and make a difference in the world.
