AV Access, a leading provider of Pro AV and AV over IP solutions, recently announced the addition of the 4KEX70-ARC-H2 HDMI extender to the company portfolio. Users can deploy this HDMI over HDBaseT extender for long-distance ARC extension. For instance, they can return audio signal from a TV in their living room to an AV receiver in their basement 40 meters/130 feet away.
ARC Extension & S/PDIF Audio Extension
“The 4KEX70-ARC-H2 HDMI extender is composed of a transmitter (TX) and a receiver (RX). The RX features an audio DIP switch that can be used to control audio output: ARC mode and S/PDIF in mode. These two modes are respectively designed for ARC extension and S/PDIF audio extension. This is the most distinctive feature of the extender,” explained Bill Liao, CEO at AV Access.
When users need to return audio signal from a TV in the living room to an AV amplifier in the basement, they can switch to the ARC mode to transfer audio from their HDTV (with ARC support, connected to the RX) back to their AV amplifier connected to the TX. In this way, they can enjoy a full theater experience in the basement with Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio, etc.
When users want to transmit audio from one of their audio systems to their AV receiver in another room, they can switch to “S/PDIF In Mode” to configure auxiliary S/PDIF input, passing optical audio from the RX to the TX. The extender kit also comes with an HDMI audio de-embedding with phoenix analog connector.
Bi-Directional PoC/IR/RS232
The advanced 4KEX70-ARC-H2 HDMI extender can transmit 4K@60 4:4:4 UHD video signal up to 40m/130ft or 1080P up to 70m/230ft over Cat5e/6/7 cable. It supports bi-directional PoC, so only one power adapter is needed at either TX or RX side to power them both. Also, bi-directional IR allows users to control both HDMI source and display at remote side, providing users more convenience. What’s more, it also supports CEC and RS232 pass-through.
