About the Author
Rhonda Foster is a native Houstonian best known for her philanthropism and capacity building. She has encountered many obstacles, such as verbal abuse in a domestic relationship, death of a spouse, 15 years of infertility, incarcerated parent, teenage parents, mental health issues, divorce, loss of a parent, abandonment, and lack of self-worth, Rhonda has used these obstacles to champion a new view on life by continuing a healthy healing journey and recognizing there is healing in sharing your testimony with others.
Empowering women, seniors, and youth is her passion. She is dedicated to remaining involved in the community and fostering collaborative support with national and local civic organizations, including community-based services aimed to improve neighborhoods and communities, low-income public and affordable housing program awareness, schools, women’s leadership, and empowerment opportunities, and more. Rhonda is both an enthused community advocate and leader of change. A leader by example, always striving to demonstrate to her son to always give his best at every endeavor.
Rhonda Foster has worked in direct services for more than 25 years, providing support to at risk youth, women, adults, and families aimed to educate and promote value that led to successful outcomes. She has 20 years of managerial leadership in nonprofit organizations in roles as Director of Programs, Contract and Compliance Officer, and Chief Operating Officer; and more than 7 years in government housing programs and contract compliance.
Rhonda has served in the Houston/Harris County community effortlessly, providing social support and resources that contribute to eliminating barriers that prevent self-sufficiency and self-confidence. Her personal experience with the obstacles she has encountered has been the sole contributor to fueling her passion to help others struggling with similar barriers.
Rhonda is an impactful public speaker, facilitator, empowering leader, and change agent that aims to demonstrate to individuals from all social classes that we all have a purpose, and our purpose should not by overshadowed by our childhood traumas.
