Irvine, CA – April 13, 2022 – Applications for the 2023-24 Richard Yu Scholarship are open for current U.S. college and university students who are registered for the 2023 academic year. The Richard Yu Scholarship was created with one simple goal in mind: to provide financial relief for students who desire to reach their full academic potential.
The scholarship is in the generous amount of $1,000, which will be applied directly to the winner’s tuition at a qualified college or university.
While higher education pays off in later life, it can be expensive and out of some students’ reach. Applying for private scholarships can help to reduce the burden of student debt and ensure future success.
How to Apply
In order to apply, students must be U.S. residents who are studying at a U.S.-based school. They may apply regardless of their major, GPA, socioeconomic status, and eventual career goals. The scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students from all backgrounds.
For the 2023 Richard Yu scholarship, students will be required to write a 200 to 400-word essay with the following prompt: “Do you feel there is a correlation between obtaining higher education and securing financial freedom for your future? Why or why not?” This prompt encourages students to think critically about their higher education and financial freedom.
The ideal applicant for this scholarship will be able to answer the prompt fully and in an articulate manner. The student will be encouraged to make connections between their academic career and their financial future.
