Largest Moonriver NFT collection aims to unlock valuable insights

As a proud recipient of the SubQuery Grants Program, Cardinal Entertainment has leveraged this leading indexing solution to focus efforts on deepening its NFT owner insights for it’s Zoombies game in the Kusama ecosystem.

Zoombies.world NFTs and the ERC20 ZOOM game token are the most distributed crypto assets, by wallet, on the Moonriver blockchain. With nearly 300,000 NFTs minted so far and over 46 billion Play2Earn ZOOM tokens currently in circulation, the developers of Zoombies recognized the need for a player insights dashboard that could expose and effectively present the complex historical and future game data.

“We were seeking to deepen the value of our growing world of collectible Play2earn Zoombies tokens by accessing the complete history of past event data and producing meaningful views to enrich the player experience.” Says CEO of Cardinal Entertainment, Ryan Price. “These large NFT collections require deep data insights to help players make decisions about their collections. Our initial design attempted to achieve this but we came to realize that SubQuery would offer us a superior solution to this challenge and at a much faster turnaround.”

Zoombies was attracted to The SubQuery Network because it provides a powerful set of tools to process and query chaindata data seamlessly. Knowing they would use SubQuery technology in their game regardless, Zoombies applied to the SubQuery Grants Programme to expedite development on their game data dashboards. The SubQuery Grants Programme offers opportunities to blockchain projects that leverage SubQuery’s open-source data indexing tools in cutting-edge decentralized applications.

“Zoombies were the ideal candidate for the SubQuery Grants Programme as they were not searching solely for funding, instead their needs encompassed all of the benefits that the programme offers.” says James Bayly, Head of Business Development at SubQuery. “They’ve been extremely receptive and responsive throughout the mentoring process and we have been consistently impressed by their output in each milestone.”

The partnership with SubQuery has allowed Zoombies to build multiple public projects to present game data quickly and meaningfully in the form of the following tools for players:

• A Zoom Token inflation/deflation graph shows the mint and burn rate for the in-game Zoom Token

• A Zoombies NFT Scarcity Rating Tool helps players rank the rarity and scarcity of their NFT among the entire Zoombies collection

• A Zoombies NFT Catalog that allows a player to see which NFTs they own and which NFTs are not yet minted in the game

• A Zoombies Live Dashboard outlining the latest, up to the minute NFT and Zoom Token ecosystem data

“Exposing the collection data was a necessary first step for the upcoming Zoombies Land NFT release. ” says Ryan Price. “So we were thrilled to have a chance to expand on this area of the game with support from SubQuery. Zoombies Land and Zoombies on Moonbeam are both set launch in Q2-Q3 2022 and we will enhance the our SubQuery data tools as part of these deployments as well.”

About SubQuery

SubQuery is a blockchain developer toolkit enabling others to build Web3 applications of the future. A SubQuery project is a complete API to organise and query data from layer-1 chains. Currently servicing Polkadot, Substrate and Avalanche projects, this data-as-a-service allows developers to focus on their core use case and front-end, without needing to waste time on building a custom backend for data processing. The SubQuery Network proposes to enable this same scalable and reliable solution, but in a completely decentralised way.
